Brave (2012)
Brave (2012) is all about wild hair, wilder spirit, and one fiery princess who’s not waiting around for a prince 🏹🔥👑. Merida, the redheaded archer from the Scottish Highlands, is totally not your typical Disney royal. She’d rather ride her horse and shoot arrows than wear a dress and smile politely.
When her parents try to marry her off to one of three (very awkward) suitors, Merida decides to take fate into her own hands — literally. She finds a witch in the woods (as one does in a magical forest 🌲✨), asks for a spell to “change her fate”… and accidentally turns her mom into a bear. Oops 😬🐻
What follows is a wild, emotional, and surprisingly funny journey about mending bonds, understanding each other, and realizing that bravery isn’t just about fighting — it’s about love, listening, and letting go of pride.
The animation is gorgeous — misty forests, epic cliffs, glowing will-o’-the-wisps — and the soundtrack? Totally magical. Merida’s independence and courage make her stand out in the best way.
If you’re into fierce heroines, family drama, and magical chaos, Brave is a bold, beautiful ride you’ll want to take again and again 💚🏔️🎯
